ARTICLE 1: PREAMBLE
1.1. We, the members of Life Guide Global Ministry, in pursuit of our shared welfare and unity, do hereby establish the Life Guide Global Ministry Welfare Association.
1.2. This Constitution is adopted to guide the governance and operations of the Association.
1.3. The Association shall be known as the Life Guide Global Ministry Welfare Association.
1.4. This Constitution is subordinate to the Life Guide Global Ministry Church Constitution and the Constitution of the Republic of Ghana in all legal and administrative matters.
ARTICLE 2: AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
2.1. The aims and objectives of the Association shall be to:
- a. Promote solidarity and cooperation among members of the church;
- b. Assist and support members in the following situations:
- i. Bereavement
- ii. Marriage
- iii. Childbirth
ARTICLE 3: MEMBERSHIP
3.1. Membership is open to any member of Life Guide Global Ministry who voluntarily desires to join the Association.
ARTICLE 4: CESSATION OF MEMBERSHIP
4.1. A member shall cease to belong to the Association upon:
- a. Departure from the church; or
- b. Death.
ARTICLE 5: GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE
5.1. The Association shall be governed by a four-member Executive Committee elected or appointed from among its members.
5.2. The Committee shall comprise:
- a. President
- b. Clerk
- c. Financial Secretary
- d. Treasurer
ARTICLE 6: ELECTIONS AND TENURE
6.1. The term of office for Committee members shall be one (1) year.
6.2. Committee members shall be eligible for re-election or re-appointment.
6.3. Elections shall be conducted by secret ballot.
6.4. Elections shall be held during the general meeting at the end of the Committee’s term.
6.5. A simple majority shall determine the election results.
6.6. Induction into office shall occur immediately after the elections or on a date agreed by members.
ARTICLE 7: ALLOWANCES AND BONUSES
7.1. Committee members shall not receive any form of monthly allowance or bonus during their tenure.
ARTICLE 8: MEETINGS
8.1. The Association shall hold quarterly meetings.
8.2. Meetings may be convened at the request of:
- a. The President; or
- b. Any two (2) members.
8.3. Welfare issues may be discussed during regular meetings.
ARTICLE 9: FINANCE
9.1. The Association shall be financed through:
- a. Monthly dues of Ten Ghana Cedis (GHC10.00) per member;
- b. Donations and gifts;
- c. Fundraising events held twice annually.
- d. A percentage or full amount of the harvest for the year will be allocated into the well account.
9.2. All funds shall be paid to the Treasurer or Financial Secretary and deposited into the Church Account with appropriate documentation.
ARTICLE 10: STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS
10.1. The Treasurer or Financial Secretary shall present a financial statement to members every six (6) months.
ARTICLE 11: BENEFITS
11.1. Members become eligible for benefits after contributing dues for at least four (4) months.
11.2. Loans to members from Association funds are strictly prohibited.
11.3. Benefit entitlements:
ARTICLE 12: SPECIAL LEVY
12.1. In the event of benefit payouts, members may be levied an amount to be determined by mutual agreement.
12.2. [80%] of the raised levy will be added to the stipulated amount in Article 11. The total sum will then be given to the member.
ARTICLE 13: SANCTIONS FOR DEFAULTERS
13.1. All members are obliged to pay dues as prescribed.
13.2. A member is in default if dues remain unpaid for four (4) or more months without reasonable cause or notice.
13.3. Sanctions for defaulting members:
- a. Suspension of any benefits due member(s).
13.4. Appeals against sanctions must be submitted in writing within 7 days. The Committee’s decision shall be final.
13.5. Reinstatement is subject to full payment and Committee approval.
ARTICLE 14: GET-TOGETHER
14.1. A get-together may be held at the end of each ecclesiastical year, subject to the strength of the Welfare Fund.
ARTICLE 15: REVIEW OF DUES AND BENEFITS
15.1. Dues and benefits may be reviewed by members and the Committee, taking into account economic conditions and available resources.
ARTICLE 16: EFFECTIVE DATE
16.1. This Constitution shall come into force on the ……… day of …………, 2025.
ARTICLE 17: DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
17.1. Association: Refers to the Life Guide Global Ministry Welfare Association, established to promote the welfare of its members.
17.2. Church: Refers to the Life Guide Global Ministry, the religious organization under which this Welfare Association operates.
17.3. Member: An individual who is part of Life Guide Global Ministry and has voluntarily joined the Welfare Association, fulfilling the membership requirements.
17.4. Executive Committee: The elected or appointed leadership body responsible for governing the Association, comprising the President, Clerk, Financial Secretary, and Treasurer.
17.5. Dues: Monthly financial contributions paid by members to support the operations and welfare activities of the Association.
17.6. Benefits: Financial or material assistance provided to members in specific situations, such as marriage, childbirth, or bereavement.
17.7. Default: The status of a member who fails to pay their dues for a specified period without valid justification or notification to the Committee.
17.8. Fundraising: An organized effort to collect additional resources (financial or in-kind) through events or appeals to support the welfare activities of the Association.
17.9. Quorum: The minimum number of members required to be present at a meeting to make the proceedings valid.
17.10. Sanctions: Penalties or disciplinary actions imposed on members who fail to comply with the rules and obligations of the Association.
17.11. Induction: The formal process of installing elected or appointed Committee members into their respective offices.
17.12. Constitution: This governing document outlines the rules, principles, and operational framework of the Life Guide Global Ministry Welfare Association.
